Our Story
Hey, I’m Ashley.
I wish I could tell you I became a "stronger nurse" through inspirational quotes and good vibes. The truth is uglier. I quit at the peak of a $250K-a-year travel career after a 3 a.m. breakdown where I fell asleep standing up charting, then ugly-cried at the nurses’ station — full snot, panic, the whole thing. I’m a veteran critical care nurse. I don’t break easily, but burnout doesn’t begin to describe what I felt.
I spiraled into months of depression, sleeping in my brother’s car, $277K in debt, alone in Southern California, feeding myself and my gas tank with quarters. One morning, in a 7-Eleven bathroom, I looked at my reflection and finally accepted the truth: the system was broken, and I had to save myself.
My restoration wasn’t glamorous. I returned to nursing with a 460 credit score while bankruptcy and foreclosure lurked in the shadows. I went to therapy — and applied the advice. I slept like a human, ate real food, meditated, and strengthened my body. I learned financial literacy because no one tells nurses that money is leverage. I rebuilt my circle. With intention, I made myself invaluable — to myself first.
Now I have peace, boundaries, assets, and a life I actually love. I’m still a work in progress with chronic back stiffness and a dark sense of humor, but I also carry joy. I love flying kites and watching bees on long walks. I write messy, honest, therapeutic words. I once spent three months paid in Hong Kong eating ramen and pistachio pastries every day — zero regrets. My love language is jalapeño cheddar chicharrones. I believe a stranger is just a friend I haven’t met yet, and I will happily listen to your whole story.
I’m human first, nurse second — a critical care nurse who burned out, rebuilt, and now guides other nurses to Reclaim, Root, and Rise. When I started listening to other nurses — 2 a.m. internet rants, supply-closet videos, car-cry confessions — I heard my story in their voices: unsafe ratios, moral injury, blame culture, toxic leadership, dread before every shift, feeling trapped and alone, caught in what I call the Silent Sacrifice Cycle.
Stronger Nurse was built for your transformation — to help you Reclaim your power, Root back into yourself, and Rise into a life and career that feel like they belong to you. I’m proof that you can come back from the edge with more power, not less. Stronger Nurse is nurse-first, system-agnostic, and unafraid to be system-critical.
If you recognize yourself in my story — if you’ve ever cried at work, screamed in a car, or wondered if you matter — you already belong here. The next chapter is returning you to yourself.
The only question left is: Are you ready to belong to you?
